Dunstan has nearly 25 years of experience working with the technology industry on human rights and corporate responsibility topics—nearly 18 years at BSR, and 5 years at British Telecommunications.

Dunstan has led human rights engagements with many companies and initiatives across the technology industry, including Telia, Telenor, BT, Cisco, Google, Microsoft, Twitter, Meta, GIFCT, and the Global Network Initiative, among others.

Dunstan has also engaged with companies across EMEA, Asia, and North America on issues of sustainability strategy, stakeholder engagement, and transparency and reporting.

Dunstan facilitated the multi-stakeholder process of developing global principles on freedom of expression and privacy, which led to the launch of the Global Network Initiative in October 2008. He also helped create the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition, a collaborative initiative of more than 100 ICT companies improving conditions in their supply chains, and BSR’s Future of Reporting Group, a collaboration of companies seeking to improve ESG disclosures.

Dunstan participated in the process of creating the Global Reporting Initiative G3 guidelines and is a regular commentator on issues of corporate accountability, reporting, and human rights.
