Gabriel Nicholas is a Research Fellow at the Center for Democracy & Technology where his research focuses on AI explainability in content moderation systems. Before joining CDT, Gabriel worked as a joint research fellow at the NYU School of Law’s Information Law Institute and the NYU Center for Cybersecurity.
He is a software engineer by training and has a Masters in Information Management and Systems from the UC Berkeley School of Information. His written work on privacy and competition in tech has appeared in academic journals, law reviews, and op-eds, including in Slate, Wired, and The Boston Globe.
