Marty Swaim, co-founder of Challenging Racism, is a retired public school social studies teacher and forty-year Arlington resident, with a BA in Government from Oberlin College, an MA in American History from Howard University, a former elected member of the DC School Board from Ward 6, a two-time President of the Arlington Education Association, a National Writing Project consultant and a trained Results Based Facilitator. Her writings include:
