Laurie Robinson, the Clarence J. Robinson Professor of Criminology, Law & Society at George Mason University, has been involved in national criminal justice policy for more than three decades.

In 2014, the president named her to co-chair the White House Task Force on 21st Century Policing, and she served from 2014 to 2016 on the congressionally created Colson Task Force on Federal Corrections that examined federal prison system overcrowding. She served in both the Obama and Clinton administrations as the assistant attorney general heading the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Justice Programs, DOJ’s research, statistics, and grants agency.
